The Unclean Spirits Who Returned Matthew 12:43-45, Luke 11: 24-26

Angels are creatures that we cannot usually see. Before Jehovah created human people, He created the angels, and they have lived with Jehovah in the heavens for a long time. Angels also sometimes come to earth, and they could be standing right beside you and you wouldn't know it. Most angels are very good and do what Jehovah tells them to do. When Jehovah wants to tell a person something, He often sends some of these good angels to talk to him or her.

Unfortunately, some angels don't obey Jehovah, and they listen to a really bad angel named Satan. These bad angels are called demons. Satan is jealous of Jehovah's love for us. Sometimes he will send his bad angels to make people sick or make them act crazy.

Jesus is the big boss of all the angels. He teaches us how to live in a way that the demons can't control us. He is always nearby so that we can call to Him if we get into trouble. When Jesus was on earth a long time ago, He sent demons away from many people who were bothered by them.

Jesus told a story about a man who was being made sick by a demon. Someone, probably Jesus, made the demon go away so that man would not be sick any more. After Jesus made the demon go away, He left instructions for the cured man to follow so he would stay well. Just like the doctor gives you medicine to take after he sees you when you have the flu or something.

But the man in this story didn?t follow Jesus' instructions. He forgot to do what Jesus said to do, and that made it possible for the demon to come back. In fact, Jesus did such a good job when He sent the demon away and cleaned the man up inside that the demon wanted to come back and bring along some demon friends! It was like when your room is really cluttered and messy but your mother cleans it up and you want to invite your friends over to see it. So the demon invited some other demons to come with him to make the man sick, and he was even sicker than before he was cured the first time.

When we accept Jesus as our savior, He comes into our life and makes us all clean and neat inside. But it is like our clean room, with just us sitting in it, and we want company. So if we are smart, we ask Jesus and other good people to come into our room to keep us company and stuff. If we just stay in there alone, or if we invite some bad people in, since the room is so nice and orderly, many bad people could get in and cause a lot of trouble.
