Here is a story that you can help tell to yourself! Next time that you go to the hardware store with your Dad, ask him to get you a packet of seeds. Large seeds will work best, like beans or peas. You could also ask your Mom to get some beans or peas from your pantry. You will need the dried kind, not canned or frozen. Put your beans or peas in a small jar, and pour water over them so that they are completely under water. Then put a lid on the jar so that it doesn't spill, and put it on a shelf or someplace where it won't get knocked over, but not in the sunlight! That would make it get too hot! Then keep a close watch on your jar of seeds!
After several days, one of Jehovah's miracles will occur! The seeds will begin to sprout! You will see a little shoot come out of the seeds! If you want to, you can plant the little sprouted seed in a paper cup filled with fine dirt. Just be very careful when you handle your little sprouts! They are just tiny babies and the sprout can be easily broken!
When a seed grows, it always grows the same way. First a little shoot comes out of the seed. If you plant the seed in the ground, that is all you see coming up out of the soil. Then, in a few days, a little curled-up leaf emerges from the stalk and unfolds to soak up the sunlight. Later, more leaves grow. In time, the little baby plant grows up into a big plant with many leaves, and eventually flowers. Lastly, the plant produces flowers or beans, or peas, or whatever, depending on what kind of plant it is. That is Jehovah's purpose for the plant: to give us beautiful flowers, or food to eat.
But the thing is, we don't know how the plant does all this amazing growing and fruiting! And it happens so slowly that we cannot see it actually growing. We only know that if we take good care of our little plant, it will eventually give us its flowers or fruit.
Jehovah's kingdom is like that. Jesus planted the seed, and by growing in us, it gradually gets bigger and bigger until someday it will cover the whole Earth. Eventually, it will be time to harvest this crop which was originally planted by Jesus long ago. Only Jehovah knows when that time will come. Then everybody will be happy and nobody will ever hurt anybody else ever again!
